Practical, Efficient, Cost-Effective Acid Mine Drainage Treatment

Made for Rugged Settings

Aquafix unite operate year-round, even in harsh winter settings, when Aquafix units are protected by our propane heating units, controlled by thermocouples to maintain temperature in the insulated operating shed between 45 to 85 degrees F. Such units require minimal human monitoring.

Below is the basic Aquafix unit with a 2,000-pound storage bin. The unit is mounted on a concrete pad. Drive water is piped in underground. A metal building will be installed over the concrete pad and Aquafix unit.

The size of an Aquafix unit is relataively small, as shown in the photo above. A large storage silo for pebble lime dominates the setting. The Aquafix unit itself generally is enclosed in a steel shed (shown under construction in photo above) which protects the system from both harsh weather and vandalism. Larger storage silos enable continuous operation over extended periods of time without the need for replenishing the lime supply.
